Berlin-based material startup Absora has secured €1.25 million in Pre-Seed funding for HSA3, a breakthrough sheet metal alternative that promises to transform noise and vibration control across multiple industries.

Founder Johannes Härle comes from a family of inventors. His father, Hans A. Härle, holds over 150 patents, including innovations in automotive and aerospace technology. Now Johannes has developed his own invention: a micro-perforated lightweight material that absorbs sound and vibrations while remaining stable and cost-effective.

According to Gründerszene, Härle spent ten years perfecting HSA3. The material works like traditional sheet metal but offers significant advantages. It reduces noise and vibrations, decreases flow resistance, and weighs considerably less than conventional solutions. The patented manufacturing process enables large-scale, affordable production.

HSA3 can be used anywhere traditional sheet metal is currently installed. Absora is already running pilot projects with gas power plants and soundproofing system manufacturers. The company is also collaborating with FläktGroup, a Samsung subsidiary, to develop products for air and climate control technology.

"We want to become the Kleenex of metal construction," Härle explains, estimating a market potential of €200 billion. Current noise and vibration control solutions remain expensive and often inefficient. Materials like rockwool or foam offer limited dampening and create disposal problems.

The material delivers impressive performance metrics: it's 60 to 80 percent lighter than rockwool constructions, 50 to 80 percent more effective at low frequencies, and over 50 percent cheaper than competitors. HSA3 is fully recyclable, reusable, and repairable, addressing sustainability concerns in industrial applications.

Investors backing the Pre-Seed round include VCs Heartfelt and Marvelous, angel alliance Better Ventures, and founders from SB21, along with several individual angel investors.
