Berlin's Aiomics raises €2M for AI medical platform

Berlin-based healthtech startup Aiomics has successfully closed a €2 million pre-seed funding round, positioning itself to tackle one of healthcare's most pressing challenges: overwhelming documentation burdens that consume valuable clinical time.

The funding round, which values the company at €10 million post-money, was led by Vorwerk Ventures with €1 million, alongside notable investors including Calm/Storm, Norrsken Evolve, and several prominent business angels. According to information from Tech Funding News, the investment comes at a critical time when Europe faces severe healthcare staffing shortages.

Addressing a Critical Problem

The numbers paint a stark picture: Europe is projected to face up to 4.1 million health worker shortages by 2030, with 1.2 million doctors, nurses, and midwives already missing. UK surveys reveal that clinicians spend approximately 13.5 hours weekly on documentation – nearly a third of their working time – often extending into unpaid overtime.

This administrative burden isn't just inefficient; it's driving talent away. Recent studies show 29% of physicians and 33% of nurses are considering leaving their positions, partly due to these documentation demands.

AI-Powered Solution

Aiomics directly addresses these issues with its comprehensive AI platform that captures speech, handwriting, and existing documents within a single workflow. The system performs completeness and consistency checks through a human-in-the-loop process, delivering structured, coded, and audit-secure data back into existing hospital systems.

Co-founded by Dr. Sven Jungmann, Dr. Nikita Tarasov, and lawyer Kirill Schitomirski, the company was born from firsthand experience of how paperwork erodes clinical focus. As one early adopter noted: "I used to choose between time for patients or for compliance. With Aiomics, I regain time and improve compliance."

European Focus and Future Plans

Unlike many competitors that offer basic speech-to-text services, Aiomics emphasizes quality assurance and European compliance, building toward ISO 13485/27001 and MDR alignment. The fresh capital will fuel platform expansion across diverse care settings, from acute hospitals to telemedicine providers, with particular interest in the Swedish market.
