Berlin's Andercore has secured $40 million in Series B funding to expand its AI-powered platform for industrial trade across Europe. The round combines equity and debt financing from investors including Atomico, Project A, and new backer Inven Capital, alongside institutional support from Commerzbank and KfW. According to the company's press release, Andercore has now raised $75 million since its inception.
The startup operates in global wholesale, a sector worth tens of trillions of dollars annually that still relies heavily on manual processes. Andercore focuses on core industrial categories like infrastructure, energy, and building materials, which represent over €200 billion in annual European demand.
What makes Andercore distinctive is its approach: the company acts as principal, buying from international suppliers and selling to local buyers, while proprietary AI manages the entire trade lifecycle. This includes pricing, quality assurance, distribution, and financing. The platform already processes thousands of large-scale transactions monthly across seven European markets.
"At its core, Andercore is AI that moves containers of real products globally," explains Founder and CEO Philipp Andernach in the press release. "Our system brings prediction, discipline, and speed to supply chains that still rely on manual work."
Andernach brings a unique perspective to the business: he comes from a fifth-generation manufacturing and trading family with over a century of wholesale experience. His 80-person team operates from Berlin headquarters with additional offices in India and China, serving major industrial players including Strabag and Synthos Group.
Customer feedback highlights tangible results. Jean-Marc Levasseur from Hebert Électricité in Normandie reported saving around 12 percent on a large Le Havre project while receiving faster quotes and reliable delivery.
The fresh capital will fund geographic expansion and deeper category coverage, while developing features that eventually allow suppliers to sell directly through the platform.
