Berlin's House of Games to Launch Gaming Hub in 2026

Berlin is gearing up to become Germany's undisputed gaming capital with the launch of House of Games, a groundbreaking 15,000-square-meter gaming hub opening in early 2026. The ambitious project will transform a historic brick building in Friedrichshain's Quartier Lux into a one-stop destination for the entire gaming industry.
Mayor Kai Wegner and Economic Senator Franziska Giffey officially unveiled the location Tuesday, with Wegner declaring Berlin already Germany's "gaming capital" thanks to its dynamic growth in the sector. The €4.6 million state-funded project promises to be unique not just in Germany, but internationally.
French gaming giant Ubisoft, known for blockbuster franchises like "Far Cry" and "Assassin's Creed," will serve as anchor tenant alongside approximately 20 other companies already expressing interest. The facility will house established studios, indie developers, startups, and industry associations under one roof.
The historic building, once home to Osram's lightbulb production and later East Germany's VEB Narva, will offer flexible office spaces, presentation areas, podcast studios, and a cafeteria. Industry associations Medianet and Game will also relocate there, providing crucial networking and funding support for startups.
Plans include eventually moving Berlin's Computer Games Museum and making the world's largest video game collection accessible to visitors. With over 300 gaming companies in Berlin-Brandenburg generating half a billion euros annually, the House of Games positions the city to capture a larger share of the global gaming market.
The project represents Berlin's commitment to diversifying its economy while capitalizing on high-growth tech sectors, reinforcing its reputation as an attractive business location.
