The startup tackles a growing problem in content creation: while AI has advanced rapidly in generating text and images, audio has lagged behind. As generative video tools make visual content faster and cheaper to produce, sound has become a bottleneck. Mirelo's founders, AI researchers and musicians Florian and his cofounder, saw this gap as an opportunity.
Here's what makes Mirelo different: imagine uploading any video and getting perfectly synchronized sound effects in seconds. Instead of scrolling through endless stock audio libraries and manually syncing effects frame by frame, creators can generate a complete audio draft instantly. But the technology goes beyond speed. Users can then refine the sound, adjusting tension, changing tone, and exploring alternatives until it matches their creative vision.
The company's state-of-the-art video-to-audio models create synchronized sounds out of the box, then give creators granular control to shape the final result. Think of it as having a sound designer on demand, accessible to beginners while offering professionals the depth they need.
Mirelo's team brings experience from Google Brain, Amazon, Meta FAIR, Disney, Native Instruments, ETH Zürich, and Max Planck Institutes. By developing everything from foundational AI models to the end product in-house, they maintain full control while building expertise at a fraction of typical costs.
The company's ambition extends beyond video. Mirelo aims to become the audio layer for all visual content, spanning video, gaming, social media, and film. The startup is now hiring across research, engineering, go-to-market, and product roles.
