Europe's only EdTech unicorn is making a major move in Germany's AI skills market. London-based Multiverse has acquired StackFuel, Berlin's leading data and AI training provider, with an ambitious goal to train 100,000 German workers in AI skills, according to information from the company's press release.

StackFuel specializes in online data and AI training for large corporations, delivering programs to companies like Mercedes Benz, IAV, and Telefónica. What sets them apart is an impressive 92% program completion rate, significantly higher than typical online learning platforms. The company was founded by Leo Marose and Stefan Berntheisel, who will both join the senior leadership team of the combined entity.

The timing couldn't be more critical. Research from IAB suggests that AI adoption could increase Germany's GDP by up to €4.5 trillion over the next 15 years. Yet there's a significant problem: 70% of German workers currently receive no AI training at all, creating a massive skills gap that threatens the country's economic competitiveness.

"Germany can prosper in the age of AI, but what is holding us back isn't desire or technology, it's the skills of individual workers to make use of new technology," explains Marose in the press release.

Multiverse partners with over 1,500 global companies worldwide and combines AI-driven learning with human coaching. The company is part of the EU-AI Champions Initiative and has already been delivering accredited training in Germany since 2025.

The acquisition represents a substantial investment in StackFuel's team and product, positioning the combined company to deliver workforce transformation at scale across Europe's largest economy.
