Berlin-based climate tech company carbmee has secured €20 million in funding to expand its AI-powered carbon emissions management platform. According to a press release from CommerzVentures, who led the investment round alongside Fly Ventures, the funding will accelerate the development of carbmee's Environmental Intelligence System (EIS™).

The company's platform addresses a critical challenge in corporate sustainability: tracking carbon emissions across complex supply chains. With over 80% of emissions originating in the supply chain, carbmee's solution helps enterprises move beyond traditional spreadsheet-based tracking methods to more sophisticated, AI-driven reporting.

The startup, which employs over 60 people across offices in Berlin, Munich, and New York, has attracted an impressive roster of enterprise clients, including Lufthansa Technik, Coca-Cola, Miele, and Anglo American. One customer, KWS Saat, reported calculating their supplier carbon footprint 94% faster using carbmee's platform compared to conventional methods.

CEO and co-founder Christian Heinrich views the investment as validation of the company's early focus on scope 3 emissions in manufacturing industries. The fresh capital will support enhancements to carbmee Studio, a recently launched customization tool that enables users to create AI-driven reports and dashboards.

CommerzVentures' Managing Partner Paul Morgenthaler praised carbmee's growth trajectory, noting that the company is "at the forefront of a vital industrial step-change" in helping businesses manage their carbon emissions and simplify the decarbonization of global supply chains.
