Compliance Startup heyData Closes $16.5M Series A

Berlin-based heyData has secured $16.5 million in Series A funding led by Riverside Acceleration Capital (RAC), according to a company press release. The investment will accelerate the startup's mission to transform compliance from a complex expert domain into an intuitive, automated process accessible to all businesses.
Founded by Miloš Djurdjević, Daniel Deutsch, and Martin Bastius, heyData provides a modular compliance platform that helps companies navigate regulations like GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS2, and the EU AI Act. The platform replaces intimidating spreadsheets and fragmented workflows with automated tools that integrate directly into everyday business operations.
"We're building heyData for the reality of modern companies," said Djurdjević in the announcement. "This round gives us the momentum to bring IT security and compliance together in one place, so you coordinate less and finally regain full control."
The funding comes earlier than originally planned. With new EU regulations and increasingly complex digital threats, the team decided to accelerate their timeline to meet growing market demands.
The fresh capital will flow into three key areas. First, heyData will significantly expand its IT security features, creating what the company calls an "all-in-one compliance solution 2.0" by merging security and compliance on a modular platform. Second, the startup will add more compliance frameworks and deeper integrations, automating everything that can be automated. Third, heyData will expand its proven DACH region model across Europe, helping more companies grow without typical compliance overhead.

The platform offers expert legal support on demand, audit-ready documentation, and implementation that takes days rather than months.
