€5M seed round powers NexDash's green trucking vision

Berlin-based NexDash has secured €5 million in seed funding just three months after its founding, according to Startbase. The round was led by Extantia Capital and Clean Energy Ventures, backing the startup's mission to create Europe's first fully digitalized and electrified logistics carrier.

The challenge NexDash is tackling is significant. Heavy-duty trucks account for roughly 35 percent of transport-related CO₂ emissions in Europe. While electric drivetrains are becoming economically viable, many freight companies operate outdated diesel fleets with tight margins and limited access to capital. Insufficient charging infrastructure and low digital adoption further slow down the industry's transformation.

NexDash's approach combines three elements: digitalization, electrification, and consolidation. The company acquires mid-sized logistics providers, expands their operational capacity, and gradually electrifies their fleets. At the heart of this strategy is NexOS, an AI-powered operating system that orchestrates energy supply, route planning, maintenance, and capital deployment in real time.

"We're electrifying Germany starting with logistics," says founder and CEO Michael Cassau. "We're bundling, transforming, and electrifying these diesel fleets, creating the foundation for a new industry: Trucking-as-a-Service made in Europe."

The company's platform automates processes, reduces costs, and cuts emissions. Cassau, supported by industry veteran Karsten Sachsenröder, former top manager at DB Schenker, envisions building a scalable, digitally connected, and emissions-free logistics infrastructure.

Investor Joern-Carlos Kuntze from Extantia Capital emphasizes that electrification in heavy-duty transport fails not due to technology but orchestration. "NexDash connects software, infrastructure, and capital in a TaaS model and scales the transformation where it matters: in operations."

The fresh capital will fund the acquisition and integration of smaller freight companies, deployment of initial electric truck fleets, and further development of NexOS. The startup also plans to build new charging infrastructure to maximize daily operational efficiency. Long term, NexDash aims to develop autonomous transport solutions based on its own infrastructure.
