FICUS Health Raises €3M for AI Platform

Berlin-based FICUS Health has secured €3 million in seed funding to expand its AI platform that streamlines documentation in rehabilitation clinics. According to the company's press release, the round was led by European early-stage investor Redstone, with participation from Merantix Capital and industry business angels.
The HealthTech startup addresses a pressing challenge in Germany's healthcare system: administrative overload. FICUS has developed an AI platform that automates medical documentation and improves information flow between doctors, therapists, and administrative staff in rehab facilities. The company reports reducing documentation time by up to 70 percent in many clinics.
Nearly 100 rehabilitation centers across Germany already use the platform, including facilities operated by Deutsche Rentenversicherung and VITREA Group. Around 1,000 healthcare professionals interact with the system daily, and the platform has processed over 100,000 medical records in less than nine months.
"We want to fundamentally improve how rehab clinics operate," explains Benjamin Pochhammer, CEO and serial founder who previously built CASPAR Health. "AI is the lever to ease workflows, optimize cost structures, and simultaneously improve quality of care."
The funding comes as Europe's healthcare sector faces mounting pressure. Germany could see 1.8 million unfilled healthcare positions by 2035, while administrative tasks currently consume about a third of staff working time. FICUS aims to free up professionals for direct patient care.
With the fresh capital, FICUS plans to expand its AI capabilities along the entire patient journey, ensure interoperability with existing hospital systems, and strengthen its market position across German-speaking regions. The company, founded in 2024, maintains strict data security standards including ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, with all patient data processed exclusively in Germany.
