Funding for Mission-Driven Climate App Klima

Mission driven rather than exit driven is how Markus Gilles, Jonas Brandau, and Andreas Pursian-Ehrlich, the founders of Klima, define themselves. In 2019 they began developing their ‘quantifiable impact’ app that calculates your personal carbon footprint and shows you how to reduce the emissions you generate. They guarantee no greenwashing, and provide answers to anyone who doesn’t know what to do personally to help reduce the effects of the climate crisis. Through offsetting and reduction, Klima claims to have already taken more than 70,000 tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Now techfundingnews reports that Klima has raised €10 M in series A funding from, among others, 468 Capital with existing investors such as Berlin tech entrepreneurs Christian Reber (Pitch), Jens Begemann (Wooga), Niklas Jansen (Blinkist), and Lawrence (Tier Mobility) Leuschner’s Blue Impact fund going along. Klima wants to use the new funding to expand within the German-speaking region and into the US market, as well as exploring B2B. “Klima for Teams”, for instance, promotes CO2 reduction in the workforce.
