Berlin continues to cement its position as a leading AI hub with Mercanis, a local startup transforming procurement processes, securing over $20 million in Series A funding. The round was led by new investors Partech and AVP, alongside existing backers including Signals.VC, Capmont Technology, and Speedinvest.

Founded in 2020 by Fabian Heinrich and Moritz Weiermann, Mercanis has developed an Agentic AI Procurement Suite that's catching the attention of major corporations. The cloud-based platform combines procurement, supplier management, and contract management into one intelligent system where AI agents handle operational tasks autonomously.

The results speak for themselves: clients report over 40% process cost savings, 2.5x efficiency improvements, and an impressive 12x return on investment. Major companies including BASF-Coatings, GASAG, Goldbeck, Wilson, and Brose have already adopted the platform.

"What used to take days now takes only hours," explains Uwe Kreplin, Head of Procurement at GASAG, according to the company's press release. "The automation and transparency help us act faster and make better decisions."

The fresh capital will fuel Mercanis's international expansion, particularly into the US market, while strengthening their leadership in Agentic AI technology. Philippe Collombel from Partech notes that multinational firms are now procuring billions through the platform, highlighting the startup's rapid market penetration.

CEO Fabian Heinrich emphasizes the timing: "In times of geopolitical and economic uncertainty, our technology empowers companies far beyond Germany to build more resilient procurement operations."
