Berlin's Sanity Group, one of Germany's leading medical cannabis companies, is joining forces with Canadian cannabis giant Organigram Global Inc. in a strategic transaction valued at up to €250 million.

According to the company's press release, the deal gives Sanity Group an initial valuation of €130 million, with up to an additional €120 million tied to performance targets through March 2027. Sanity Group will operate as an independent European arm of Organigram, keeping its Berlin-based leadership team in place.

Founded in Berlin in 2018, Sanity Group has grown fast. Revenue jumped from €9 million in 2023 to €60 million in 2025, making it Germany's second-largest player in the medical cannabis market. The company supplies pharmacies with medical cannabis products under brands including Vayamed and avaay Medical, and is the only German company participating in a legal cannabis retail pilot in Switzerland.

The partnership with Toronto-listed Organigram, which trades on both Nasdaq and the Toronto Stock Exchange under "OGI," opens doors to new markets including Poland, the UK, and Switzerland. Joint clinical studies and new drug formulations are planned to drive product innovation across European medical markets.

"Our goal is to become a global market leader in the coming years," said Sanity Group founder and CEO Finn Hänsel, citing the complementary strengths of both companies. Organigram CEO James Yamanaka called the deal "transformative," saying it immediately strengthens their commercial footprint in Europe.
