Takeda relocates German headquarters to Berlin

Japanese pharmaceutical giant Takeda has announced plans to relocate the German headquarters from Constance to Berlin by the end of 2028, according to information from the company's press release. This strategic move consolidates the company's German operations around three key locations: Berlin, Oranienburg, and Singen.
The decision strengthens Berlin's position as a pharmaceutical hub while maintaining Takeda's two state-of-the-art production facilities in Singen (Baden-Württemberg) and Oranienburg (Brandenburg). Berlin already handles significant distribution responsibilities for the German market, making the headquarters relocation a logical next step.
"Moving our corporate headquarters to Berlin demonstrates our commitment to Germany, Takeda's fourth-largest country," explained Dr. Ingeborg R. Borgheim, Managing Director of Takeda Germany. The company emphasizes that this move reinforces Germany's importance as a key industrial location for the global pharmaceutical company.
The relocation underscores Berlin's growing appeal as a business destination for international companies. With 2,300 employees across Germany and two global production sites, Takeda's decision sends a strong signal about Germany's pharmaceutical sector potential.
The Constance office, which served as Takeda's German headquarters for historical reasons, will close by year-end 2028, marking the completion of this strategic reorganization.
