Two Berlin-based companies have secured places in Europe's top 10 fastest-growing companies, according to the Financial Times' prestigious FT1000 ranking for 2025.

Ad-tech startup Almedia took third place with an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 473.6%, while Cykero, a refurbished electronics wholesaler, came in at ninth place with a CAGR of 341.8%.

What makes Almedia's performance particularly remarkable is the age of its founder. At just 23, Moritz Holländer leads one of Europe's fastest growing companies. Holländer founded the rewards-based marketing platform at the age of 18 and has grown it to generate revenues of around €29 million by 2023. According to an article in the German magazine Gründerszene, Almedia has reached more than 35 million users worldwide since its founding in 2020.

Almedia operates primarily through its Freecash platform, which acts as an interface between users and advertisers. The company has reportedly paid out more than $100 million (€92 million) to users through its gamified advertising platforms.

The ninth annual FT1000 league table, compiled in association with research company Statista, showcases outstanding business performance across Europe in challenging economic conditions. Polish photovoltaic supplier Menlo Electric topped the list with a CAGR of 830.8%, followed by UK banking platform Allica at 652%.
